Half Moon Bay, West End

Sandy Bay is an extensive stretch of Roatan’s North Shore from Mangrove Bight nearly all the way to Coxen Hole. Along this sandy stretch, you’ll find small hotels and B&Bs, plus lots of restaurants and small beach bars, local neighborhoods are intertwined throughout for a great island vibe. Many of the islands best diving and snorkeling sites are just offshore here, so you can explore the beauty above and below the surface. While some parts of Sandy Bay are perfect for lounging other stretches of sand are actually used as a road it’s true Island style here.

Private Beach Clubs are new on the scene in Roatan these developments offer great options to relax and enjoy all the amenities you might want without leaving the sand at all. Activities from horse riding to snorkeling to exploring private islands are all options, restaurants, and bars are available often with service straight to your lounge chair. You’ll have to pay to play in these private beach club locations but it’s worth it to enjoy the luxurious feeling of a more private island escape.
